Web 2.0

After looking through all of the different tools on the Symaboo the two tools I chose to do an activity with are Kahn Academy and Linoit. The students are to go into Khan Academy and look into new subjects that interest them. They will watch videos and take notes on the information. After they have taken information down from the videos they are to share this information with their peers. They will post the information that they have learned onto Linoit so that they can also engage with their peers. During the time they are on Linot they are to also discuss with their peers about the information that other students have posted. This will lead to the students being able to learn about a variety of different subjects and practice discussing with their peers.

This will lead to the students being able to learn about a variety of different subjects and practice discussing with their peers. By practicing discussion with their peers the students will be ready later on when discussion becomes a key part of learning. Using this activity will also allow the teacher to be able to monitor multiple students at one time. The teacher can watch the students interacting with the other students and make sure the students are on task. Also, the teacher can easy interact with multiple students at one time.

5.3 Teachers motivate students to work productively and assume responsibility for their own learning. In this lesson, students work on their own to find the information needed for the discussion. As a result of the students sharing what they have learned it encouraged them to be productive in order to teach their peers something new.
